Educational Objectives of the Department of International Relations

The aim of the programme is to educate individuals

who can work in public institutions, non-governmental organisations and international organisations,

who have a career in various business lines of the private sector in Turkey and abroad,

who are entrepreneurs, who can conduct scientific and innovative graduate studies and who have an academic career.

Programme Outcomes

To be able to acquire theoretical knowledge and evaluate developments in the field of International Relations
To be able to analyse global and regional problems by learning and to develop solutions
To have knowledge in the field of law of states and to be able to analyse interstate problems in a legal context
To be able to analyse the developments in international politics, Turkish political history and Turkish foreign policy in line with the important developments of world political history
To have knowledge about social sciences and to be able to use this information
To produce analytical knowledge in the field of International Relations with an interdisciplinary approach
Having the basic qualifications and entrepreneurial spirit to make a career in the private sector
To gain a predisposition to teamwork in professional and human relations and to be able to undertake team leadership
To be able to work independently, to conduct and present research using social sciences methodology
To be able to use English at an adequate and active level
Being conscious and respectful about fundamental rights and freedoms
To gain basic level communication skills in a second foreign language
To be able to act with the awareness of social responsibility and volunteering
