Information About Our Faculty

HISTORY

In 1994-1995 academic year, the faculty started its activities with two departments, namely Economics and Business Administration.

In 1995-1996 academic year, the number of departments of our faculty increased to 6 with the opening of the departments of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations, Finance, International Relations and Public Administration.

In the 2002-2003 academic year, Business Administration and Economics departments have started to offer secondary education programmes,

Secondary education programmes of other departments were added in 2003-2004 academic year.

Department of Econometrics was opened in 2008-2009 academic year,

In the 2013-2014 academic year, the number of departments of our faculty increased to 7 and the number of programmes increased to 14 with the opening of a secondary education programme in the Department of Econometrics.

Our faculty moved to its campus in Ağaköy at the end of 2004.

The name of our campus was changed to Prof. Dr. Ramazan AYDIN Campus in 2007.

Biga FEAS is a faculty that operates Erasmus programmes effectively.

Our faculty cooperates with 72 universities and other academic institutions from 30 countries, organises joint conferences, panels, congresses and workshops, and exchanges faculty members and students. To date, many of our faculty members and students have benefited from these exchange programmes.

Since its establishment, our faculty has hosted many local, national and international congresses and symposiums and numerous workshops and panels. With these activities, an environment has been prepared for students and academicians to establish various academic and social ties.

Location

Our faculty is located in Prof.Dr. Ramazan Aydın Campus of Onsekiz Mart University. Prof.Dr. Ramazan Aydın Campus is 10 km away from Biga district centre. The centre of Biga is accessible by public transport. The fact that Biga is on a transit road and intersection gives the opportunity to reach Istanbul in 3 hours by ferry via Bandırma, Bursa in 3 hours by road, Izmir in 6 hours, Edirne in 4 hours and Ankara in 8 hours. Since Bandırma is 60 minutes away, it is possible to pass to Istanbul Yenikapı by using sea buses. Although it is on the coast of the Marmara Sea, the district centre is 15 km inland from the sea.

Accommodation

There are private dormitories and hostels supervised by the Credit Dormitories Institution and the Ministry of National Education for the accommodation needs of the students in Biga district where Biga İİBF is located. In addition, a 500-person girls' dormitory affiliated to the Credit Dormitories Institution serves in Ağaköy campus.
